Interoperability

Next generation, IMS-based networks are open standards-based and highly distributed for a number of reasons – to avoid replicating call control and features in every geography, to ensure costs are not repeated throughout the network, and to enable best-of-breed network elements, avoiding the vendor-lock that occurred in legacy networks. Seamless interoperability is the objective of any service provider migrating to next-generation and IMS architectures, so it is key that vendors work closely together to provide open standards-based, interoperable solutions that have been thoroughly tested in the lab and proven in the marketplace.

GENBAND remains committed to helping service providers fully realize the objective of deploying best-of-breed, distributed networks, with one of the largest interoperability labs in the world, where GENBAND’s highly experienced engineering staff works closely with partners to ensure that interoperability is proven before deployments occur. GENBAND’s solutions are also deployed worldwide among many service providers, proving that interoperability and open standards work effectively in live networks.
