G6 Universal Media Gateway
The G6 Universal Media Gateway is a mid-sized media gateway designed for both the central and remote offices. The G6 platform can simultaneously support multiple service architectures, including Class 5 voice over broadband, softswitch-enabling legacy access terminals and Class 5 line bays, and IP to PSTN connectivity. Built for today’s network, legacy or IP, as well as future IMS network deployments, the G6 Universal Media Gateway is a truly reusable media gateway asset for the circuit to packet migration process.

- Provides an ideal access or trunking gateway solution for deployment in central or remote offices of fixed or mobile networks
- Interworks an array of circuit and packet-based protocols, allowing Class 5 local exchanges to provide voice services over broadband access networks
- Enables legacy access equipment, both GR-303 and TR-08; Class 5 line bays, both DCO and EWSD; to softswitch or IMS-based control while simultaneously providing a trunking gateway function
- Features Emergency Standalone (ESA) capabilities to ensure call continuity to circuit and packet-based subscribers in the event of an outage of the call control element
