Charlie Vogt is helping Drive the Evolution of the global communications network.

Vogt leads one of the most dynamic telecom equipment suppliers in the communications market.  GENBAND is an innovator of IP technology that enables fixed and mobile operators to transport and route multimedia services over the internet.  

Vogt became President and CEO of GENBAND in September 2004.  Since that time, Vogt has executed three acquisitions, reversed a negative trending operational plan and grown revenues to 94 million (FY 07).  Under Vogt's leadership, GENBAND has successfully secured business with nearly half of the world’s top 100 network service providers, partnered with six of the largest telecom equipment manufacturers, and extended its global reach to over 60 countries.  The company’s employee population has grown from 90 to 450 and has Centers of Excellence in Texas, China and Brazil.  Today, GENBAND is recognized as a global market-share leader in IP gateways and is labeled as one of the nation’s fastest growing private companies by INC 500 and Deloitte Wireless Fast 50.   

Vogt is an industry luminary with two decades of executive tenure and an admirable track record.  As Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year  in 2008, Vogt has been instrumental in the operational and financial growth of five standard-setting start-ups that either became public companies or were acquired.  Prior to joining GENBAND, Vogt was President and CEO of Taqua, which was acquired by Tekelec in March 2004.  During Vogt’s tenure as President and CEO of Taqua, he led Taqua through one of the most challenging telecom environments to become the industry’s leader in next-generation packet switching.  Before joining Taqua, Vogt held executive leadership positions at Santera Systems (acquired by Tekelec), Accelerated Networks (IPO, then merged with Occam Networks), and Ascend Communications (IPO, then acquired by Lucent Technologies).  Earlier in Vogt’s career, he held sales executive positions at ADTRAN, Motorola, and IBM.

Vogt holds a Bachelors degree in Economics from Saint Louis University, where he also played Division I baseball. Vogt serves on the Board of Directors of; ATIS, Comptel and The Chief Executive Network and is Chairman of the Board of Kentrox.  Vogt is also a member of Young Presidents Organization.
